SuperCrew Represents

Categories: SuperCrew

Super Crew, the recent winners of Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance crew, waved the Filipino flag some weeks backs during the finale of the show. The Filipino newscast above caught the video and interviewed member Angelito Casal who expressed the need for young Filipino kids to have role models.

Byters Will be Eaten

I was searching for Philippine All Star videos on YouTube and somehow chanced on the profile of a certain TonicTrip and this video of Philippine-based dance group SOP Boys biting off the routines of the Jabbawockeez. I already wrote about his other video, a tribute to the Boogie Bots, which is probably one of the better ones I’ve seen on the web.

This vid comes from before the Jabbawockeez went on America’s Got Talent, and certainly far before America’s Best Dance Crew. I think the Jabba’s are so much bigger than this now, but it was a big deal back then.

Fan Made Boogie Bots Tribute

Categories: Boogie Bots, Crews, Videos

I often have this idea that fan made tributes just involve crisscrossing pictures in horribly bad music. The video above, though clearly amateur, isn’t one of them. It’s about the Boogie Bots’ journey this season in Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew.

Now, I wouldn’t say I was rooting for them, but as a pinoy, there was always this blind faith. I am a Ginebra/Jaworski fan and I say the underdog is always a worthy bet. Of course, their journey ended before it could even become a story - one that clearly isn’t the best to tell - the Boogie Bots went home without redeeming themselves from a whole bunch of crap (thrown by both the judges and the webs.)

As for the uploader, I think he knows his material pretty well. He just gave more fodder to talk about.

Filipinos Win HipHop Championships

Categories: Competitions, Crews, Philippine All Stars, Videos

Produced by HipHop international, the same people that brought you Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew, the annual hiphop championships features tons of great crews from all over the world. And they must be in good company, Filipinos are some of the best hiphop dancers out there (ahem.. Jabbawockeez, Super Cr3w [half?]) and their bet, The Philippine All Stars, got out with the gold.

The multi-awarded Philippine All Stars gave Filipinos another reason to be proud of when the group bagged the title in the 2008 World Hip-Hop Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, August 3.[source]

Below are some of their other videos.
